The position is located at the corporate headquarters in Willis, Texas, and involves operating the machine capabilities of the shop. It is a manual‑labor, physically intensive role that requires flexibility to work out of town, nights, weekends, and holidays on short notice. The employee must promote safety, efficiency, quality, reliability, staff morale, and teamwork while performing the duties outlined.
The incumbent is responsible for operating and maintaining shop equipment such as manual lathes, vertical mills, radial arm machines, drill presses, forklifts, and company vehicles. This includes proper lubrication, tool setup, electrical oversight, and keeping the work area clean and operable. All activities must follow departmental policies, safety regulations, and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of manual machining experience, and a valid Texas driver’s license; a Class A CDL is preferred. Candidates must be proficient with hand and power tools, measurement instruments, and be able to read blueprints and technical documents. Physical requirements involve standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lb (75 lb assisted), and working shifts of ten hours or more in varied weather conditions.
The work environment exposes employees to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, electrical hazards, noise, and extreme temperatures, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols. Employees must be prepared for on‑call availability and rapid reporting of injuries or equipment issues.
