The Sheet Metal Assembler works under the direction of the department Lead Hand and the Sr. Sheet Metal Operator, performing a variety of tasks that include assembling panels, installing assemblies such as flashing, wall panels, insulation, and HVAC ducts, and handling metal fabrication work such as drilling, punching, trimming, filing, grinding, deburring, buffing, and smoothing surfaces using hand and portable power tools. The role also requires a willingness to cross‑train and support additional job tasks as needed.
Performance is measured by producing high‑quality work with zero non‑conformances, meeting assigned project deadlines, adhering to health and safety policies, and maintaining an excellent attendance and punctuality record.
Candidates must possess a suitable mix of education and experience, with 1–3 years of sheet‑metal experience preferred. Required skills include proficient use of hand tools, operation of an industrial powered forklift, reading and interpreting work orders and drawings, independent and team‑oriented work habits, strong communication, time‑management, organization, and a friendly, respectful attitude toward coworkers.
The position is physically demanding, requiring standing in a work cell for 8–10 hours a day, frequent walking, manual handling, reaching, climbing, balancing, and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must regularly lift and move materials, use ladders and work at various heights, and meet vision requirements such as close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
