This is an exciting time to be part of NHG’s transformation. As Head of External Affairs, you’ll lead our media relations, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement programmes. You’ll be central to building NHG’s reputation as a purpose-led, high-performing organisation and advising senior leaders on reputation and risk.
- Lead media relations, public affairs and reputation-building communications and engagement programmes.
- Advise the CEO and Executive Board on external communications.
- Manage a small, high-performing team and agency partners.
- Build strong relationships with media, MPs, councillors, and key stakeholders.
- Deliver a strategic narrative that showcases NHG’s social purpose and transformation.

This is a senior leadership role within our Corporate Affairs function, requiring confidence, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage crises effectively.
- Significant experience in media relations and public affairs.
- Proven ability to manage crises and advise senior leaders.
- Investor relations experience
- Collaborative, inclusive, and values-led leadership style.
- Strong understanding of the UK media landscape and digital channels.
- Experience of working with MPs and other key stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and visual.
