Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and confidence working independently as well as part of a design team.
Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 21542, EN 17210, or EN 17161.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RIAI, SCSI, Engineers Ireland, or similar).
A postgraduate qualification in Universal Design, Inclusive Design, or Accessibility is advantageous.
Degree educated in a relevant field such as Architecture, Building Surveying, Construction Engineering, Occupational Therapy, Industrial Design, or Disability Studies.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel for site work as required.
Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and visual — with the ability to prepare clear, evidence-based reports.
Experience mentoring junior staff or leading project teams.
Proven experience in accessibility auditing, site inspections, and identification of design or construction non-compliances.
In-depth knowledge of Part M of the Irish Building Regulations and the DAC application process.
Strong spatial understanding and proficiency in interpreting technical drawings.
