• Plan and lead cross‑functional kaizen events focused on lean fundamentals, standard work, visual management, flow, problem‑solving, and strategic growth/capacity initiatives.
• Drive implementation of tools and processes across operations, supply chain, engineering, and commercial functions.
• Train and coach team members and leaders in lean thinking, daily management, and continuous improvement practices.
• Create and execute improvement roadmaps based on assessments of business system maturity.
• Enable teams to embrace standardization, accountability, and data‑driven decision making.
• Identify, document, and disseminate internal best practices.

Requirements

IEM is seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer for its Surrey, B.C. locations, reporting to the Continuous Improvement manager. The role supports kaizen activities, standard work documentation, and data‑driven process improvement, ideal for candidates passionate about lean manufacturing and eager to grow in a structured CI environment. This position requires 100 % in‑office presence in Surrey and does not offer remote work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
• 7–10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing, operations, or continuous improvement, preferably in a multi‑site or matrixed industrial environment.
• Proven understanding of Lean principles such as 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, visual management, PDCA, SMED, and A3 problem solving.
• Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional kaizen events and system‑wide CI initiatives.
• Understanding of basic operations finance, including P&L impact, cost drivers, and fixed vs. variable costs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project‑management skills with a record of cross‑functional collaboration and mentoring junior engineers.
• Clear career ambition and potential for broader leadership roles in a fast‑paced, high‑growth organization.
