The Service Technician supports Nordex’s mission by ensuring safe, efficient operation of wind turbine generators. The role involves maintaining reliability and performance of clean‑power plants through planned and unplanned maintenance, system upgrades, and accurate documentation captured in Movilizer.
- Repair and maintain wind turbine generators and related equipment
- Support 24/7/365 wind farm operations, including rotating shifts, overtime and on‑call duties
- Conduct safety analyses and manage electrical/mechanical hazards before and during work
- Assist in root‑cause analyses to determine equipment failures
- Perform preventive maintenance safely and efficiently on turbines and associated equipment
- Complete and maintain accurate corrective and preventive maintenance documentation
- Follow lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO), JSEA and job‑specific safety documentation
- Represent Nordex professionally and perform other assigned responsibilities
- Maintain required training certifications and qualifications

Safety is paramount; technicians must conduct thorough safety analyses, follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, wear required PPE, and hold certifications for medium and high‑voltage equipment. The position demands physical stamina, the ability to lift 50 lb, climb >300 ft, work in confined spaces and extreme weather, and travel both domestically and internationally.
- Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Utilize computer skills, including MS Office, to organize work, meet deadlines and prepare reports
- High school diploma or GED required; certification or degree in wind/technical/engineering field preferred
- 0–1 year of wind industry experience
- Ability to be certified for medium and high‑voltage equipment
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced team environment
- Physical ability to lift 50 lb, climb ladders and work at heights above 300 ft
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (≈10% travel) and to the wind farm within 45 minutes in emergencies
- Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends and on short notice during outages
- Meet weight requirement ≤265 lb, pass pre‑employment physical, and possess a valid driver’s license and U.S. passport
- Fluent English communication for safety and job instructions
