Leader in end‑to‑end integrated facilities management for major retailers and grocers.
The Store Designer supports the store development process for multiple brands by delivering thoughtful design solutions and high‑quality fixture plans. This role ensures timely project delivery to internal and external partners while adhering to organizational design, drafting, and CAD standards, and reports to the Planning Resource Lead and Format Spec II.
Key responsibilities include developing design solutions using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft programs, preparing and distributing fixture plans for partner review, and managing timelines to meet client expectations. The designer also supports space and planning analysis, tracks revisions, updates a project library—often incorporating field surveys—and helps maintain comprehensive drawing, equipment, and fixture standards libraries. Participation in creating efficient workflows and software tools is also expected.
The role requires applying brand and design standards thoughtfully to meet project scope and parameters. Collaboration spans internal teams such as Store Planning, Construction, Décor & Signage, and Equipment Purchasing, as well as external architectural and engineering consultants. The designer will present completed plans to project and leadership teams.
Candidates should hold a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Architectural Technology, with 3‑5 years of related experience preferred. Required technical skills include AutoCAD proficiency, knowledge of architecture and construction documents, advanced Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with Microsoft Office collaboration apps. Experience with Adobe, BlueBeam, Sketch‑Up, Smartsheet, or CSSP certification is ideal but not mandatory, and the role may require up to 25% travel.
Additional competencies include strong attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication, active listening, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize tasks to maintain project cadence. The designer should be capable of leading presentations, training new planners, adapting to change, solving problems, and demonstrating interpersonal skills in a collaborative environment.
