The DOT Compliance Specialist leads Pro-Vac’s U.S. Department of Transportation compliance program, overseeing policies, audits, documentation, and reporting for drivers, vehicles, and operations. The role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, HR, and leadership to maintain a strong safety culture and ensure readiness for inspections and audits.
The position is fully remote, allowing the specialist to collaborate with nationwide teams while supporting the company’s mission to deliver safe, efficient hydro‑excavation and storm/sewer maintenance services across the United States.
- Administer DOT compliance programs and act as primary contact for audits, inspections, roadside documentation, and regulatory correspondence.
- Maintain driver qualification files and monitor HOS/ELD compliance.
- Ensure vehicle inspection and maintenance compliance through oversight of DVIRs, periodic inspections, maintenance records, and CSA trends.
- Deliver DOT compliance training, guidance, and tools to drivers, dispatch, and field leadership.
- Conduct internal audits, track compliance metrics, support incident documentation, and assist with corrective action plans.

- 5+ years of DOT compliance experience with strong knowledge of 49 CFR regulations.
- Experience with ELD/HOS systems, audits, inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Multi‑state or mixed‑fleet experience; safety/compliance certifications (NATMI, TSI) preferred.
- Working knowledge of CSA/SMS and roadside inspection score improvement strategies.
- Exposure to safety performance programs, audits, and risk‑reduction initiatives.
- Regulatory expertise applied in practical, real‑world contexts.
- Clear, effective communication and training delivery.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism.
- Data‑driven problem solving with trend and risk analysis.
- Collaborative approach with consistent follow‑through and thorough documentation across Operations, Maintenance, and HR.
