Perform self-check and peer quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
Supports project team in development of engineering studies, design documentation, plans, and technical reports for relevant project design elements.
Perform field work as required such as project site visits and meetings, construction project visits, and field reviews.
Attend and participate in project meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
Coordinate and keep consistent communication with other project team disciplines to ensure the entire design team has the same design intent.
Attend and participate in meetings with clients, municipal officials, and contractors to review project needs.
Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
Assists senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, quality, budget, staffing, and schedule.
Utilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional models of civil systems and provides markups for junior engineers/designers.
Take sufficient notes at meetings to document discussions and organize follow-up action items.
Serve as a member of the technical design team on site civil projects requiring geometric site layout, profiles, stormwater management, drainage, grading, water and sanitary sewer utilities, and erosion and sedimentation control.
Support senior staff in preparation of project cost estimates and participate in value engineering exercises.
Assist in the review of contractor shop drawings and submittals, respond to requests for information, site observation reports, and perform other construction administration tasks.

Must have a valid driver’s license.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS Mapping is a plus and willingness to learn relevant software such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, Navisworks, etc.
Able to pass pre-employment and project-specific drug screenings as required.
Field work and associated travel may be required on a project-specific basis, including overnight stays out of town. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in civil engineering.
Candidate must have strong technical writing abilities.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Self-motivated individual, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Engineer-in-Training certification.
Technical knowledge in site grading and drainage, water, and sewer projects is a plus.
