Description

The Junior Estimator will support the estimating team by interpreting plans, performing material takeoffs, compiling bid packages, and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors under the guidance of senior estimators.

• Calculate costs using blueprints, drawings, and maps.
• Perform takeoffs of earthwork, concrete, and utilities with Bluebeam/Revit, Agtek, and Rhino.
• Compile labor and material cost estimates for construction bids.
• Communicate with vendors to obtain and review bids for compliance.
• Input takeoff data into HCSS.
• Assist in selecting subcontractors or suppliers that meet project requirements.
• Interpret plans and specifications to inform the estimating team.
• Collaborate with senior estimators and attend pre‑bid meetings.
• Prepare estimating meeting material books.
• Develop skills to become a full Estimator.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance.

Requirements

• Prior heavy civil construction experience preferred.
• Knowledge of estimating takeoff tools.
• Ability to travel and work under pressure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Word).
• Lift and carry up to 50 lb.
• Communicate clearly by telephone.
