Supporting the Engineering Manager and Pre-Construction Managers to provide input to the overall design strategy and workload management;
Leading design assurance on projects through conducting regular review meetings with project teams, identifying best practice, areas for improvement and areas of concern;
Developing and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers;
Carrying out technical audits in the office and site and ensure all actions are closed out;
Ensuring design risks are considered and prepare design risk assessments. Communicate residual design risks to others;
Supporting the delivery teams, verifying the work of others in a timely and efficient manner, and providing expert technical support;
Supporting the Engineering Manager, in ensuring that learning and best practice is shared across the business stream and the business as a whole;
Providing integration planning of Methods, Permanent and Temporary works with multi disciplinary project delivery teams;
Promoting the development of BIM within the design process;
Conform to designer obligations of the Construction (Design and Management) regulations.
Maintaining personal expertise and knowledge to ensure than Project Engineering is at the forefront of the industry both technically and in using the latest technologies and standards;

be a subject matter expert with a good understanding in other areas in the engineering field;
hold a good working knowledge of mechanical, structural and geotechnical engineering and related software packages and BIM is required;
have a recognised professional qualification (MICE or MIStructE) and a valid CSCS card;
be customer centric and flexible in approach, with the strategic and creative insight to understand the range of opportunities in invitations to tender and be willing to challenge the norm;
have strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners and delivery team members under time pressure;
have extensive up to date technical knowledge of temporary works design and ground engineering and industry best practice;
be both focussed and thorough and have the gravitas and professional credibility to advise senior management when something needs immediate redress together with the tenacity and drive to ensure that the necessary action is taken;
know ‘what good looks like’ in submissions and have hands on experience of leading technical aspects in a timely manner;
