The custodian will be responsible for receipt, custody, issue, safeguarding, accounting, and destruction of COMSEC material, maintaining records and submitting reports. Duties include executing Out‑Of‑Band‑Key Transfer for remote rekeying, interpreting complex network drawings, installing and troubleshooting COMSEC equipment, operating key fill devices, and providing training and oversight to site personnel.

- Execute Out‑Of‑Band‑Key Transfer for remote rekeying of enterprise encryptors across multiple networks.
- Interpret complex network drawings and cryptographic documentation to meet key material requirements.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot COMSEC equipment and approved key fill devices.
- Perform Over‑The‑Air‑Transfer of key material to remote sites and provide training and COMSEC oversight to personnel.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combinations of education and experience, and hold a DoD Secret clearance. Required skills include experience with HAIPE management software, Key Management Infrastructure certification, completion of the COMSEC Custodian Course, and a strong understanding of US Air Force IT requirements.
Desired qualifications include prior experience as a COMSEC Responsible Officer, experience with COMSEC account administration, knowledge of OCONUS USAF operational requirements, and familiarity with remote cryptographic management systems such as RCMS.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of specialized experience (or equivalent education/experience) and an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Demonstrated proficiency with HAIPE management software (e.g., Viasat VINE, GEM‑One) and Key Management Infrastructure certification.
- Completed the COMSEC Custodian Course or equivalent and understand US Air Force IT operational and technical requirements.
- Preferred experience as a COMSEC Responsible Officer and familiarity with remote cryptographic management systems such as RCMS.
