Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field;
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to maintain morale and resolve conflicts constructively;
Proven leadership and organizational skills;
First Aid and WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain);
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote locations;
Experience with provincial and federal environmental regulations is considered an asset;
Ability to maintain team cohesion and motivation during extended fieldwork in remote areas;
Use of vehicles, boats/ATVs (as applicable), and field equipment with appropriate training and PPE.
Familiarity with GPS, data loggers, and relevant software;
Field-based travel across Québec and Ontario; exposure to variable weather, wildlife, and remote terrain.
Ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions for extended periods;
Strong communication and problem-solving skills;
Strong knowledge of herpetology inventory methods for reptiles (snakes, turtles) and amphibians (salamanders, frogs);
French-English bilingualism* (written and spoken) is an asset.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in field surveys for herpetofauna and associated habitats (terrestrial environments, wetlands, waterways, hibernaculum, artificial shelters);
