The Project Controls Director will report to the Senior Director, Project Controls and provide leadership for project controls teams supporting Aecon’s large‑scale nuclear sector mega‑projects.

- Lead development and implementation of Project Controls strategies and ERP tools.
- Serve as liaison to executive leadership and Project Directors.
- Resolve consistency issues across Project Controls systems on multiple projects.
- Align cost control, scheduling, change, risk and reporting disciplines.
- Partner with other departments on company‑wide continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Update Project Controls policies, create guidelines and document procedures.
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounting for internal and external audits.
- Perform project‑level cold‑eye audits to ensure compliance with standards and contracts.
- Mentor project teams to adopt processes and maintain accurate metrics.
- Manage sector resource planning, utilization analysis and staffing forecasts.
- Contribute to sector business and strategic planning activities.
- Assist in recruiting new Project Controls talent.
- Design training, competency models and career pathways for Project Controls staff.
- Foster a safe, open and respectful workplace culture.
- Guide direct reports on goal setting and professional development.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and implement improvement plans.
- Support quarterly Board risk reviews and prepare related materials.

- Bring 17+ years of EPC self‑perform and construction field experience on mega‑projects.
- Hold a quantitative, engineering or construction‑management degree.
- Demonstrated analytical, adaptive and innovative problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong collaboration, communication and detail‑orientation skills.
- Expertise in Project Controls (PMI/AACE certification) and stakeholder management.
- Proven leadership of high‑performing teams and consensus building.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Primavera P6, ERP (SAP/Oracle/JDE) and cost‑estimating tools.

The role offers a base salary of $210,000‑$245,000 annually, comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) match, paid time off, a short‑term incentive plan, and additional benefits such as wellness subsidies, tuition reimbursement and a green home‑energy allowance.
