The HVAC Installation Technician reports to the National Service Leader and is a non‑exempt, full‑time position. The role focuses on installing applied equipment and performing depot maintenance while collaborating with teammates and serving customers.
- Install applied HVAC equipment with limited supervision.
- Perform depot maintenance, testing, cleaning, and inventory tasks.
- Install and commission cooling towers and conduct refrigerant leak checks.
- Complete log sheets for all installed equipment.
- Clean condenser coils on trailer‑mounted chillers and maintain tubes on water‑cooled chillers.
- Navigate chiller control panels to collect data.
- Provide excellent customer service and the ability to train junior technicians.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and ensure first‑time correct execution.
- Perform basic arithmetic, rate, ratio, and percent calculations; interpret graphs.
- Apply common‑sense reasoning to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve multi‑variable problems.

- Diagnose low suction and high discharge pressure issues.
- Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Maintain current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 training; EPA certification preferred.
- Have 1–5 years of experience in chiller/HVAC maintenance or related mechanical fields.
- Demonstrate electrical knowledge and relevant journeyman certifications.
- Exhibit strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and prioritization abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone, iPad).
- Read, write, and present simple instructions and correspondence effectively.
- Ability to work in noisy equipment rooms, extreme weather, at heights, and handle electrical hazards.
- Physically capable of climbing, crawling, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 75 lb regularly.
