The role involves developing, implementing, and updating compliance tracking processes, ensuring accurate OSHA record keeping, and establishing effective environmental policies and practices.
Key duties include integrating EHS systems with senior leadership, managing the department budget, and leading a team of EHS professionals along with any outsourced partners. The director will develop performance measures, maintain safety databases such as Donesafe, oversee pre‑qualification platforms (ISNetworld, VeriForce, PICS), and ensure robust training, injury management, and drug‑and‑alcohol programs. Additional responsibilities cover site audits, incident reviews, corporate safety committee guidance, and external representation in industry EHS groups.
Candidates must hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related EHS field, possess at least 15 years of safety experience, and have five years of executive‑level leadership, plus a CSP certification. Required skills include strategic thinking, strong analytical and data‑driven mindset, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $200,000‑$280,000 with an annual incentive program, 401(k) match, employee stock purchase plan, and comprehensive health, dental, vision, and wellness benefits. Additional perks include flexible spending accounts, paid time off, paid holidays, military leave, disability and life insurance, and various employee assistance and legal programs. The role may require pre‑employment screening, and MasTec is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to inclusion and compliance with all applicable laws.
