What you would be doing

  • Work directly with our clients to achieve their sustainable transport needs
  • Oversee projects budget and financial performance
  • Work collaboratively with the Liveable Places team and our colleagues in the wider Mobility team and the wider WSP business to achieve our aims and objectives
  • Support our Regional Lead within the North along with the team in our Birmingham office and wider Liveable Places team
  • Act as Project Manager/ Director on a wide range of projects whilst helping to grow and develop our work with clients
  • Undertake technical preparation, review and checking of deliverables within the team
  • Engage with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practice
  • Leading project teams in the delivery of a varied portfolio of work, and alongside colleagues in other service lines to deliver large multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Knowledge of current transport policy and standards
  • A proven ability to support with winning public sector work and support our growing offer across the region
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (desirable)
  • A civil engineering degree, transport planning degree or equivalent
  • Proven ability to lead and manage project teams and individuals
  • Proven track record in project management and financial control
  • Transport, traffic signals, road safety, parking or traffic engineering experience
  • Good spoken and written communication skills. With the ability to liaise with others including public sector officials, members of the public and other senior colleagues
