As Product Development Manager, Passenger you will shape travel on scenic rail journeys and Interislander ferries by designing and delivering new experiences such as tours, travel packages, onboard events and guest enhancements that delight travellers and meet commercial objectives.
The role works closely with internal teams and external partners to create innovative, sustainable, customer‑led offerings, turning insights into action to keep KiwiRail’s products unique, competitive and memorable.

The position requires experience in tourism product development or visitor‑experience design, knowledge of design‑thinking and customer‑centred design, strong market research, competitor analysis and commercial evaluation skills, the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders, up‑to‑date knowledge of tourism markets, trends and sustainable practices, and a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Personal qualities essential for success include a strong customer focus and passion for memorable experiences, a collaborative, inclusive and innovative working style, strategic thinking combined with practical problem‑solving, and strong organisational and adaptability skills in a fast‑paced environment.
