This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Bridge Project Manager to oversee and execute existing projects and lead new client pursuits. Our ideal candidate has excellent technical bridge skills, project management skills, and the ability to identify and lead pursuits. We currently have offices in Columbus, Canton, and Ft. Mitchell and are beginning to explore Lexington and Louisville as the location of our 4th office. The person we hire to fill this position could also serve as the office lead if the interest is there and they live in close proximity to the Lexington or Louisville areas. This position is well-suited for an experienced engineer who has served as a Project Manager and is ready to step into a leadership position.
Significant Project Management and Business Development experience in a client-facing role is a plus. However, less experienced candidates with excellent leadership potential will also be strongly considered. Proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects
Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: OpenBridge Designer, MDX, AASHTOWare BrR, LPile, and more.
Experience preparing reports, plan packages, and proposals
Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Must have a satisfactory background test.
Experience mentoring and directing the work of junior engineers and designers
Experience as Project Manager on KYTC projects desired
Ability to work independently preparing engineering reports, calculations, and overseeing plan development
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering
Proven ability to serve as prime consultant or lead consultant on transportation projects

This position will serve as a Project Manager and as an important technical resource in the firm’s bridge practice. The position is well-balanced between business development, project management, and technical responsibilities. Based on the firm’s growth trajectory, this position will offer outstanding career development, potentially including the opportunity to become the lead of a fourth office of Compass and being a primary point of contact with clients within your region. Compass has a solid backlog of existing bridge projects and pre-existing client relationships, maximizing the likelihood of your success in this role. You will serve as the head of the bridge practice in Kentucky by identifying potential projects to pursue, helping prepare project proposals, leading bridge tasks, implementing quality control, and hiring and mentoring junior staff.
