Resolve contractual statement of work issues and respond to contract amendments and new customer requirements. Ensure change orders are completed for every change including "zero dollar" changes.
Prepare, issue, RFP/RFQs, analyze submissions and award contracts to complete project work in accordance with the Subcontracts Manual.
Maintain a current database of competent, professional subcontractors covering all project requirements, i.e. electrical, carpentry, masonry etc.
Review the Work Status Report on a weekly basis and ensure that quotes/estimates are being provided within client service level standards and work is progressing.
Submit shop drawings for review and approval.
Review subcontractor invoices for standing offer and construction projects and sign-off indicating the work is competed as required and the amounts are correct.
Manage and administer repairs/renovations and construction project contracts and ensure compliance with subcontract documents.
Provide routine input and feedback to the Site/Contract Manager on the performance, professionalism and attitude of the project subcontractors.
Ensure all project operations meet and comply with local laws and regulations, federal health and safety legislation, regulations, corporate policies.
Maintain accurate, neat and well organized and documented Project Files and ensure they are passed through the Work Control Clerk, so they can be tracked and their status updated in the Work Status Spreadsheet.
Provide input and feedback on the subcontract documents to the Site/Contract Project Manager. Identifying any improvements in wording, scope, clarity etc.
Respond in a timely, flexible manner to client non-forecast requirements and changes in scope.
Meet with clients to discuss project scopes, trouble shoot equipment/service problems, review engineering design, plan and schedule work, inspect work in progress and final inspection.
Ensure subcontractors have their own HS&E policy/program or are aware and comply with the ATCO requirements

A minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience; preferably managing projects in a commercial/industrial environment in Northern Canada/Territories.
Knowledge of laws governing construction contracts and contracting.
Experience using project scheduling tools.

Experience in formulating and managing project budgets.
A track record of delivering projects on time & on budget despite challenges including remote locations, harsh weather and labour constraints.
Experience in Property Management / Facility Management for both government and commercial clients.
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize, and evaluate the work of contractors.
Ability to concurrently handle a wide variety of projects and coordinate outside contractual agreements.
Excellent customer relations.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints and specifications.
Knowledge of effective safety practices, standards, and techniques pertaining to buildings maintenance operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management is required as a minimum level of education.
Experience responding to both Federal and Territorial tenders
Knowledge of building codes and construction practices is necessary.
Thorough knowledge of building maintenance and repair practices.
Considerable knowledge of the principles of building design and construction including plumbing, heating, mechanical, electrical, and structural.
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
Experience managing a broad range of projects both in terms of disciplines as well as geographically, including projects in the Arctic.
