Laboratory Technician, Environment Testing, Cranston, RI

Work evenings, weekends, holidays as needed on a rotating basis

Responsible for running routine and non-routine, specialized microbiological analyses

Ensures that proper Quality Control/Quality Assurance tests are performed on all analyses for the day

Prepare media necessary for various analyses in the laboratory

Work with MLT III and LD to order supplies necessary for the day to day running of the laboratory

Assists MLT III to ensure that the QA/QC task schedule is completed as necessary

Responsible for receipt of and proper logging in of all samples received into the laboratory

Input and review data entry from the bench sheets to the Laboratory Information Management System (currently Element) • Interface with clients

Responsible for ensuring the correct analysis is performed on all samples received into the laboratory

Perform field work as necessary

The Laboratory Technician I has some knowledge of commonly used microbiological concepts, practices and procedures. Has working knowledge of formulations for various media used in the laboratories’ techniques.

Correctly utilizes all QC/QA documentation/logbooks

• An Associate’s degree in a related field
• Also must be able to tolerate unpleasant odors
• Must have a valid US drivers license without recent incident.
• Some computer proficiency
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Strong interpersonal skills
• 2 years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory performing various environmental analyses
• Good customer service skills
• Must be able to perform light lifting and light housekeeping duties.

Compensation is $19-20/hour (DOE) plus full benefits

Please note - Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.

This position is out of our Cranston, RI laboratory. Schedule is 9/9:30am-6pm Saturday, Sunday and 3 weekdays. (flexible on what 3 days Mon-Fri). Saturday and Sunday are a MUST
