What you would be doing

Identifies unsafe acts and/or conditions. Resolve if safely possible and report to supervisor any unsafe act or condition.
Log completed batch numbers and time of completion at QC check table when doing the viscosity checks.
Turn in allcompleted paperwork at shifts end.
Report on stock of buckets, pre-weigh containers, and pail liners so that we may get more ordered.
Verify the drums, contents and quantities, before starting the Shar operation. Compare the labels on the drums to the batch sheet to make sure they are the same. If there is any difference, contact your supervisor. At the end of your shift, be sure all empty drums have been replaced for the incoming Shar Operator unless directed differently by your supervisor.
Dump trash hoppers as they fill on a daily basis.
Dump powders that are in bags into hoppers to be used at the shar mixers.
Fill catalyst kettles on a daily basis. Use a supervisor or Lead to verify the material before adding.
Identify, verify, and label the Hold Tank that you will pump the A-paste into before transferring product. Label Hold Tanks with Schedule, batch, and formula numbers when transferring into them.
Follow the batch sheet provided by the Production Supervisor without deviation.
Restock pre-weigh station with raw materials, buckets, pail liners, and pre-weigh containers as needed.
Label and dispose of scrap material into the proper waste stream.
Communicatewith oncoming Production Supervisor, and Shar Operator as to where the shar’s stand and any issues you have had throughout the day.
Replace empty material drums with new unless directed by supervisor to do something other.
Continuously monitor and react to spills particularly those generated by the Shar mixers. Complete Work Orders if the root cause is faulty equipment and communicate to supervisor. Any spill greater than 1 gallon needs to be reported to the Production Supervisor, Production Manager, or HSE Manager.
Help maintain the cleanliness of the catalyst room.
Hand weigh small ingredients to be added into the batch manually.
Fill out daily 6’s checklist sheets that monitors progress for the day.
Always be present when the Shar is transferring product and always seek Maintenance or Supervisory guidance and assistance before attempting to do anything manual on the Shar.
Generatework orders for machine issues.
Retrieve and submit samples to the QC lab for testing.
Communicate with the maintenance department and the Production supervisor when machinery breaks down.
Operate the supersack station when needed.
Champions and leads by example wearing all PPE to perform job duties, (safety glasses/goggles, proper uniforms, cut resistant gloves, etc.).
Fill out daily downtime reports for lost time on the machinery.
Record lot numbers, weights pulled from the HMI screen, any downtime, viscosity checks for each mix, Hold tank number material is to be transferred to, and any variances on the batch sheet.
Do quality checks for viscosity and temps on every batch.
Locate materials in the warehouse and retrieve with a forklift to be used at the Shar mixers.

Must be able to wear a respirator.
High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent.
Good verbal skills.
Understanding of Chemical Process Equipment and technology.
Ability to make snap (quick) decisions.
Self-Starter and Multi-Task oriented.
Ability to drive a forklift.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Must have a basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment uses, and a general knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices.
