You will primarily be acting as a lone worker, responsible for delivering the programme for your section of the network of sites and so must be self-motivated and safety conscious.

You will be required to drive to both rural and urban sites across Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire, visiting rainfall, river flow/level and groundwater monitoring sites, where you will gather, quality assure and provide scientific data to internal and external customers.

Ability to work at pace and effectively manage competing priorities.
Confident to drive to remote locations and in all weather conditions.
You will also be working with a team of officers to report on and respond to issues, working together on asset upgrades and to collect gauging data, so must be a team player and good communicator.
Awareness of different hydrometric monitoring methods and resulting data.
Data analysis and trend spotting.
Knowledge of telemetry systems or environmental monitoring equipment.
This role is a combination of field and office work, with greater focus on field work. Therefore, you must have a willingness to work outside, often in demanding weather conditions, all year round.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Numerate and Literate.
Willingness to work outside all year round.
Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office, Teams and other software, and able to pick up new IT systems and databases quickly.
Logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
Experience of data management.
Confident to work near and in water.
