Develop new protection solutions to meet the requirement of a future smart grid.
Create all associated Engineering Design calculations and documentation.
Produce a comprehensive suite of protection and control system design drawings for 11kV up to and including 132kV systems.
Support the creation of all necessary Equipment specifications.
Reviewing designs produced by suppliers and client to ensure designs are technically compliant and in line with current legislation and policies.
Visit Sites to assess project requirements.
Integrate protection and SCADA systems to deliver cost effective design solutions
Attend site meetings and provide ongoing design drawing changes / support as required during project build.

Knowledge and experience of working with main suppliers’ products of substation control equipment (such as ABB/Hitachi, Siemens, GE)
Full driving licence
HNC Electrical Engineering
Experience in main standard protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870.
Proven experience in the design of protection and control schemes.
Knowledge of Electrical Networks and Engineering standards
An ability to interpret technical documentation relating to design.
