The Designer role is responsible for the quality of design within the defined scope, program, and budget, co‑leading projects alongside the Technical Designer, Project Manager, and Project Architect from concept through design development. The Designer produces deliverables that convey clear narratives and conceptual frameworks to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include shaping design direction, integrating multidisciplinary criteria, and maintaining quality standards. The Designer conducts programmatic, contextual, and cultural research, selects materials and finishes, and creates comprehensive documentation such as drawings, sketches, models, renderings, animations, and design narratives. Additional duties involve supporting technical specifications, communicating design goals, nurturing client relationships, and assisting during the construction phase when needed.
Leadership duties involve actively leading the project team, supervising, training, and mentoring members, and participating in talent acquisition and sustainable strategy implementation. The Designer also contributes to developing new service standards and procedures that protect the firm from financial and legal risk.
Minimum qualifications include a professional degree in Architecture or a related field, architectural licensure (LEED or other green‑building accreditation preferred), and at least eight years of experience. Candidates must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, a solid understanding of sustainable strategies, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, parametric and rendering software, Adobe Suite, and Google Workspace.
