As a Project Manager (Design Manager) at Gensler, you will lead multidisciplinary design teams and consultant partners on high‑profile sports, live‑entertainment, and venue projects where design meets the energy of a sold‑out crowd. These fast‑moving assignments require strong leadership, sharp instincts, and real‑time decision‑making. You will be hands‑on from day one, immersed in every delivery phase, shaping places that define culture and create shared experiences.
In this role you will set the project vision, keep work progressing, and mentor talent throughout the lifecycle. You will be accountable for maintaining schedules, budgets, and work plans while managing relationships with clients, contractors, agencies, and specialty consultants. Your involvement will extend to proposals, contracts, billing processes, marketing efforts, and quality assurance of project documentation.
The position calls for 15‑20 years of project and design management experience in an architecture firm, a bachelor’s degree in architecture, and preferably a licensed architect credential. You must have extensive experience with large stadium or venue projects, strong client‑service orientation, and the ability to lead and develop junior staff. Proficiency in programming, space planning, mixed‑use developments, building codes, sustainable design, and software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit is essential.
Life at Gensler emphasizes balance and well‑being, offering curated art exhibits, internal design competitions, hackathons, and a dedicated “Well‑being Week.” Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flexible spending, paid holidays, PTO, 401(k) with profit sharing, employee stock ownership, and twice‑annual bonuses. The firm also reimburses professional licenses, exam fees, and eligible tuition, supporting continuous professional development.
