The Project Lead Structural Engineer role at Sargent & Lundy offers a variety of interesting and challenging opportunities in structural engineering, providing an excellent platform to advance one's career. In this position you will guide a team of structural engineers, interface with clients and engineers from other disciplines, and manage a variety of exciting projects.
You will apply your knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design to execute assigned tasks. Responsibilities include directing the preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports, and other deliverables, supporting designers with drawing development, supervising and mentoring others, performing structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using state‑of‑the‑art computer tools, and traveling to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification of designs.
The position requires a BSCE with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and ten or more years of experience on industrial, heavy commercial, or nuclear facility structures. Candidates must be proficient with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS, understand design codes and standards like ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred but not required qualifications include an MSCE degree, on‑site construction support experience, and a PE or SE license.

The compensation range for this role is $116,620.00 to $179,890.00, with a base salary or hourly rate complemented by a comprehensive benefits package and eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding performance and employee well‑being.
