The Payroll Specialist is responsible for payroll processing and HR administrative support, acting as a liaison between employees and leadership. This position reports directly to the Payroll Manager.
In the HR department, the specialist provides excellent customer service, addresses employee relations inquiries, and offers guidance on personnel policies. They also assist the CEO and CFO as needed and collaborate with the broader HR team on various projects.
The role oversees all payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of regular, out‑of‑cycle, and bonus payments while maintaining compliance with multi‑state regulations and internal approvals. Additional responsibilities include managing related HRIS updates, tax registrations, and reporting to senior leadership.
Candidates must have at least three years of payroll administration experience, preferably with certified and multi‑state payroll, and be proficient with large payroll systems such as Paylocity, ADP, or Ceridian. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to meet deadlines and pass background checks; physical duties involve occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.
