We are seeking a Safety Observer - Electric - to support our growing team in Orange, CT. In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving project excellence, collaborating with industry leaders, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across complex initiatives.

- Track and report safety violations, coordinate corrective actions, and verify closure with contractors.
- Collaborate with the PM and SHEQ teams to investigate incidents and develop CAR/PARs.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and Customer-specific safety protocols.
- The Safety Observer ensures site safety compliance by monitoring construction activities, conducting safety briefings, and supporting incident reporting. This role supplements the project team during critical phases requiring dedicated safety oversight.
- Conduct site safety audits and facilitate safety orientations for all personnel and visitors.
- Ensure compliance with daily safety briefings and escort requirements for site visitors.
- Support emergency response and storm restoration activities as needed.
- Review contractor Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and support safety inspection processes.

- Excellent observation and communication skills; detail-oriented and proactive.
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- Prior experience with switching/tagging procedures and construction compliance monitoring.
- First Aid / AED certification
- Valid Driver’s License
- Background check clearance (per IUSA policy)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical T&D construction or maintenance.
- Knowledge of electric line work, substations, environmental regulations, and safety codes (NEC, NESC, OSHA).
