The Waste Disposal Technician is responsible for the proper disposal of process waste, unused laboratory samples, and spent chemicals used in the laboratory according to corporate, federal, state, and local guidelines. Responsible for safely transporting process waste and unused samples within the laboratory environment. The Waste Disposal Technician must adhere to standard operating procedures, good documentation practices, and maintain accurate recordkeeping, as well as staying up-to-date on training and following training guidelines.
Responsible for identifying waste streams and maintaining satellite accumulation points for laboratory waste products
Empties satellite containers into bulk containers and returns containers to laboratory for reuse
Under the guidance of the EHS manager, coordinates pickup of hazardous waste from the laboratory as required
Provides assistance to other departments/areas as needed
Responsible for disposing unused laboratory samples and process wastes according to regulations

2 years’ experience in environmental industry preferred, especially in a lab setting
