Description
The Purchasing Agent will oversee procurement, delivery, and management of critical equipment and materials that have extended lead times for construction and project-based work. This role requires close collaboration with owners, vendors, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all necessary items are available and delivered on schedule to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Identify and coordinate procurement of long-lead equipment, materials, and specialized parts.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to select and purchase items with extended delivery schedules.
- Maintain procurement schedules and delivery timelines for long-lead items.
- Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery dates with suppliers.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Track production and shipment status of long-lead items and resolve delays, shortages, or quality issues.
- Coordinate logistics for timely, safe delivery to project sites or storage, including shipping, customs, and handling.
- Manage inventory records, purchase orders, delivery schedules, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Proactively identify risks, develop contingency plans, and troubleshoot equipment-related problems.
- Communicate status updates to project stakeholders and generate procurement performance reports.
- Ensure equipment and materials meet specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations through inspections.

Compensation for the position ranges from $90,000 to $150,000+ depending on experience.
