In this role you will own the project from bid handoff to closeout, being accountable for schedule, cost, quality, safety, and profit. You will lead crews, align superintendents, manage risk, and make real‑time decisions that move dirt, people, and outcomes. The focus is on delivering clean jobs, tight schedules, and strong margins while leading with respect, clarity, and backbone.
Key responsibilities include managing heavy civil projects from pre‑construction through closeout, owning the project P&L, and controlling estimates, budgets, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders. You will build and manage schedules, coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials, and adjust plans proactively. Partnering with superintendents, foremen, and engineers, you will set clear expectations, mentor junior staff, and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
The ideal candidate thinks like an operator rather than an administrator and takes pride in delivering high‑quality work. You should enjoy building projects that truly matter to Hawaiʻi and be comfortable making tough calls in fast‑moving environments. Leadership, accountability, and a collaborative mindset are essential.
Candidates need 2–3+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction, proven success overseeing multiple scopes, crews, and deadlines, and an associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). ACI certification and strong proficiency with construction management and accounting software are a plus. Essential skills include natural field leadership, a strong financial and operational mindset, clear communication, high organization, decisive accountability, and comfort with fast‑paced decision‑making.
Employment is contingent upon completing standard pre‑employment screening, a background check (reviewed case‑by‑case), and a drug test in accordance with Hawaiʻi statutory requirements. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States, and Alpha Inc. does not sponsor visas. Reasonable accommodations are available during the hiring process, and the company is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Alpha offers the chance to work on high‑impact civil projects that shape Hawaiʻi’s future, with real responsibility and little micromanagement. The company emphasizes culture, safety, and people, providing competitive pay, a year‑end bonus, and opportunities for long‑term career growth within a values‑driven organization.
