In this role you will evaluate commercial improvement opportunities, analyse operating and capital expenditures, lead post‑implementation reviews, review budget assumptions, provide financial insights with reporting teams, monitor performance against strategic goals, build cross‑functional relationships, and champion continuous improvement while upholding HSE policies.
- Identify and evaluate commercial improvement opportunities, supporting prioritisation, resourcing, funding and business case development.
- Analyse operating, maintenance and capital expenditures; conduct scenario modelling; provide financial input for major projects, procurement and investment decisions.
- Lead post‑implementation reviews, track benefits and embed learnings across initiatives.
- Review and challenge budget assumptions; support capital planning; assess cost‑effectiveness of major expenditures.
- Partner with Reporting, Forecasting and Analytics teams for cost‑driver analysis, benchmarking and monthly reporting commentary.
- Monitor performance against strategic goals and develop actions with leaders to deliver business plans.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Governance and Corporate Services to ensure compliance with management and investor agreements.
- Champion a One Finance mindset, drive continuous improvement and uphold HSE policies.
- Prepare business cases, process documentation and improvement recommendations.
- Work independently and collaboratively, advising senior management on financial issues and project impacts.
- Deliver learning and development opportunities to support career growth.
- Supply health and wellbeing support such as Headspace, EAP and wellness facilities.

The ideal candidate holds a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commerce and possesses professional accreditation such as CPA, ICA or CFA. Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and advanced Excel skills are required, along with experience in capital and maintenance project environments. Excellent organisational ability, high attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for influencing at all levels and preparing business cases and improvement recommendations.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or commerce with professional accreditation (CPA, ICA, CFA or similar) preferred.
- Demonstrate strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting skills; advanced Excel proficiency.
- Experience supporting capital and maintenance project environments.
- Exhibit excellent organisational ability, high attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
