The Regional Director – Cost Management will lead the cost management consultancy team for the North of England, overseeing a range of grades from project directors to associates. The role combines market‑facing responsibilities, business development across public and private sectors, and technical delivery of high‑profile projects.
In this position you will provide leadership within the cost management practice, manage line‑management duties, mentor and motivate team members, and drive recruitment and retention. You will also ensure staff receive current training, support professional chartership, and manage project finances, audits, and resource allocation.
You will maintain and grow client relationships, lead multi‑disciplinary commissions, pursue new business opportunities, and oversee bid and fee proposals through internal governance. Acting as the point of escalation, you will ensure successful delivery of complex projects and cross‑selling of other AECOM services.
Candidates should have extensive cost management experience in a construction consultancy, proven leadership in project management, and a record of winning new and repeat work. A construction‑related degree, chartered status with RICS, CIOB or APM, and strong public‑ and private‑sector networks are required, with NEC4 accreditation preferred.
