In partnership with the Project Manager, this position is responsible for leading, managing, and monitoring the quality system on projects. This position ensures processes are documented and followed; manages, monitors, reports, and analyzes project quality performance and leads corrective/preventive actions. This includes overseeing all construction management and technical aspects, as well as communicating quality-related issues to ensure adherence to company standards and project-specific contractual requirements.
- Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment.
- Ensure compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
- Manage and attend meetings including Partnering, Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting (CMUM) and regular QC Meetings.
- Lead constructability reviews, quality review of design documents, shop drawing, review, and submittal review for all scopes of work.
- Execute the project by ensuring all work meets quality standards and is performed in compliance with all contract and permit requirements.
- Plan, develop, and implement the Quality Management Plan and system for all divisions of work on one or more medium to large sized project from notice to proceed through commissioning and final acceptance by the customer.
- Ensure testing is performed and QC certifications and documentation is provided
- Establish and lead project quality control initiatives, activities (3-Phase Inspection Process) and corrective actions. Manage issues without guidance from the Project Manager or Superintendent. Partner with PM, superintendent, and project team staff to resolve issues
- Maintain a high standard of ethical behavior, encourages ethical behavior in others, supports ethical decisions and actively seeks appropriate resolution to potential ethical conflicts.
- Serve as a technical resource and guide for project team staff.

Position is primarily a field position, and will require travel, including visits and monitoring of construction job sites. Employees must be able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, personal floatation devices, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toed shoes, respirators, etc.
The employee is required to stand, walk, use stairs, ladders, and step stools and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or up to 50 pounds. Must be able to navigate stairs, ladders and gangways, board, work on and disembark floating vessels and structures. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. The employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time.
- Minimum of 10 years of construction experience within marine construction or heavy civil engineering.
- Recent experience as a QC Manager on NAVFAC construction projects preferred.
- Valid US Drivers License required.
- B.S. degree in a technical area of study, typically Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or Construction Management
