The primary function is to set up and operate CNC‑controlled horizontal milling and boring machines to machine large steel components. Responsibilities include reviewing manufacturing documents, aligning workpieces, assembling cutting tools, loading CNC programs, adjusting machine parameters, performing precision cuts, conducting in‑process inspections, making program edits, unloading parts, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
- Set up and operate CNC horizontal milling and boring machines on large steel structures.
- Load CNC programs, run trial cuts, and adjust feed rate, speed, and offsets as needed.
- Perform precision operations including facing, boring, counter‑boring, drilling, and tapping.
- Conduct in‑process inspections using verniers, calipers, and micrometers to ensure quality.
- Edit and modify CNC programs when required and operate machines manually on occasion.
- Unload finished parts, clean workpieces, and maintain a tidy, safe work area.

Qualified candidates have one to three years of hands‑on CNC machining experience, can read and interpret blueprints, and are proficient with precision measuring tools and basic machine‑shop math. Familiarity with Siemens or Fanuc controls and a safe work history are preferred.

We are hiring a CNC Machinist for a Horizontal Milling Center with Large Boring Bar expertise at our South Milwaukee, WI plant. This 3rd shift position includes a $2,000 sign‑on bonus and a pay progression from $29.67 to $32.14 per hour.
Compensation ranges from $29.67 to $37.09 per hour, with additional benefits such as medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), health savings accounts, wellness programs, career development, and various insurance options.
