- Ensure project design is completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.
- Under supervision the role includes the ability to contribute to and develop bid submissions and fee proposals.
- Written communication involves End of Design Stage Reports, Building Regulations Trackers
- Inspect properties and buildings at key stages of the design process.
- Being aware of new work opportunities and potential new clients, as well as maintenance of existing clients.
- Ensure output from projects is of a high standard.
- Offer advice around the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations.
- Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues and key stakeholders.
- You will need to work closely with all members of the firm who could be either clients or collaborators.
- Undertake plan checks and review designs to establish compliance for submission for Building Regulation approval.
- Attend client and design team meetings to give professional advice regarding building regulations.
- Be aware of repeat and new business opportunities and to escalate these to senior management.

- Excellent Client facing skills.
- Excellent knowledge of the Building Regulations, codes and any other associated legislation
- A current record of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Verbal communication involves attendance at meetings and client facing discussions.
- An understanding and experience of the design and construction process together with experience of inspecting buildings and properties
- Ideally educated to degree level in a construction related field with a preference for a design related degree or - alternatively: significant relevant, associated, and equivalent practical experience
- Experience of working on multiple projects
- Computer literate
- Ability to use SharePoint and other technology/programs.
- Membership to RICS, CABE or CIOB
- Awareness of the value of, and starting to grow, a network of contacts is also important.
