What you would be doing

  • Transport, handle, and place conduits (rolled and stick) in a proper manner.
  • Locate other utilities as needed and maintain clearances from other utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk, and non-pedestrian areas.
  • Follow directions provided by the crew leader.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety requirements to ensure safe and efficient completion of the job(s).
  • Install fiber cables in conduits following proper procedures.
  • Travel to other project sites in different states may be required to assist with new project start-ups.
  • Set and secure pedestals and vaults accurately.
  • Maintain regular phone communication throughout the workday.
  • Operate directional drills, mini-excavators, and other equipment to install UG plant facilities.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Perform utility exposes (potholing) and understand the utility locate process.
  • Read and interpret network prints.
  • Properly transport and install fiber reels.
  • Set up job equipment and reel trailers proficiently.

  • The job requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Combination of technical training and/or relevant experience.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must pass drug, background, Department of Transportation (DOT), and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screenings.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels may occur.
  • Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience operating directional drills is required.
  • Travel will be for up to a 28-day period
