Safely operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements.
Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook.
Undertake project-based travel and site work, both within the United States and internationally. The frequency and duration of project-based travel will depend on business and client needs.
A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
Support a wide range of environmental and engineering projects, from conceptual site model development to design and implementation of remediation and risk management strategies.
Utilize the latest technologies and techniques in performing studies and analysis of organic and inorganic compounds to determine their composition.
Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, location data, laboratory documentation, and logbooks.
Conduct field exercises including drilling, geologic logging, well installation, sampling of various media, and hydrogeologic testing.
Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, models, cross-sections, boring logs, and figures for the interpretation and/or presentation of data, findings, and/or analyses.
Complete training on assigned tasks.

Experience with software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, EQuIS, OpenGround, Rockworks, EVS, and/or Leapfrog a plus.
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation and communication software, technology, and tools.
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline.
Willingness to travel for field work as dictated by project demands, which could be as much as 75% of the time and to periodically adjust personal schedules to meet project needs.
40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120)
The ability to obtain professional licensure (GIT and/or PG).
Experience performing soil and rock logging.
Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis during the course of field work.
The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a scientific and non-scientific audience.
This role is subject to a client-mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of this policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.
Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator / Fit for Duty Exam / Medical Exam.
Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
Familiarity with various drilling techniques and experience with installation of groundwater monitoring and/or remediation wells.
A Master’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related discipline.
Familiarity with the concepts of reducing and eliminating the use or generation of hazardous substances, processes, or products.
Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain field testing and monitoring equipment.
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
Familiarity with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
Experience with groundwater and plume modeling software, such as Surfer, MODFLOW, MODPATH, and/or MT3DMS, and associated interface/processing packages, such as Groundwater Vistas.
Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
