

Provides water and wastewater services across East England, focusing on sustainability and innovation.
Reporting to the HSW Manager, the Lead will drive the practical delivery of the Alliance’s health, safety and wellbeing strategy. Working closely with project and delivery teams, they will embed safe working practices, promote behavioural safety and ensure consistent application of HSW procedures on site. Through visible leadership, coaching and regular site engagement they will build competence, support compliance and nurture a positive safety culture.
Key responsibilities include providing proactive leadership across operational teams, coaching HSW staff, supporting implementation of policies and risk controls, and building strong relationships with delivery teams and supply‑chain partners. The role also explores innovative ways of working, promotes an inclusive site culture and contributes to incident management and assurance activities.
The ideal candidate holds a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent and has experience in an operational health and safety role within infrastructure, utilities or construction. They possess strong knowledge of HSW legislation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to lead, mentor and coordinate resources in line with operational needs.
