Civil Engineer

Description

The position works closely with an Engineering Manager and partners regularly with internal development, construction, and regional teams. It combines technical oversight, selective hands-on design, and real-world problem solving focused on constructability, efficiency, and long-term performance.

• Current, hands-on involvement in site design, including grading, utilities, and stormwater systems
• Prepare site-related exhibits to support tenant-facing initiatives, such as parking layouts or improvement plans
• Coordinate and oversee site/civil engineering efforts performed by external consultants across multiple projects
• Ensure consistency and accuracy through quality assurance and interdisciplinary coordination
• Research and evaluate emerging design methods, materials, and technologies with an emphasis on efficiency, durability, reduced maintenance, and cost control
• Perform limited in-house civil/site design for smaller or time-sensitive improvements as needed
• Participate in construction-phase support, including site observations and issue resolution
• Review and provide technical guidance on construction documents related to site design and private/public infrastructure
• Oversee the development of record drawings and site-related certifications
• Support early-stage planning by preparing or reviewing conceptual site layouts, grading approaches, and stormwater strategies for feasibility and budgeting

• Strong background in commercial and/or industrial projects; residential experience is a plus
• Proven ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and advance projects independently
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
• Approximately 7+ years of progressive experience in civil/site engineering
• Comfortable working in both office and field environments, including undeveloped sites and varying weather conditions
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with demonstrated site/civil design expertise
