Partner with customer engineering teams to understand requirements, propose solutions, and support testing and certification programs.
Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing to validate materials, processes, and business opportunities.
Support production scale-up including troubleshooting, special testing campaigns, and detailed reporting.
Perform hands-on prototyping, fabrication, material characterization, and process development.
Develop and execute application engineering programs for thermoplastic and thermoset composite materials.
You will directly influence next-generation materials, processes, and commercial products.
Work with internal and external manufacturing partners to develop quotes, timelines, and project deliverables.
You will engage in meaningful technical challenges with real market impact.
You will collaborate with global teams across R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Commercial.
Provide technical support across the full composites portfolio, including short fiber, long fiber, and continuous fiber products.
Develop manufacturing processes, tooling approaches, equipment specifications, and work instructions.
Recommend materials, geometries, and manufacturing methods using composite design principles and FEA collaboration.
Create high-quality technical reports, documentation, and test reports.
Manage multiple development projects including estimating hours, cost modeling, project planning, and execution.
Additional customer site travel to support trials, qualifications, and technical programs.
You will work at the forefront of composite materials innovation.

Excellent technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
Strong expertise in thermoplastic and thermoset materials, composite laminate theory, fiber alignment, and processing technologies.
Experience with additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping.
Experience with FEA, simulation, or material modeling.
Strong analytical ability using scientific and engineering tools including design of experiments and process analysis.
Proven experience with material characterization, process development, and production scale-up.
Knowledge of high-temperature polymer composites and carbon fiber processing.
Onsite in Mesa, Arizona or remote with frequent travel to collaborate on development and testing.
Experience with statistical analysis and composite design allowables.
Master’s degree, PhD, or MBA.
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Ten or more years of experience in composite materials and advanced manufacturing.
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
Hands-on experience with injection molding, extrusion, compression molding, pressure forming, hybrid technologies, and composite fabrication.
Experience supporting government programs with ITAR requirements.
Project Management experience including estimating, planning, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
Ability to interpret customer specifications and engineering drawings.
