HVAC Operations Supervisor

Description

• Assist with timecard review, documentation accuracy, material tracking, and safety.
• Support technicians in addressing onsite customer questions or concerns.
• Manage daily HVAC installation and production activities, ensuring schedules, crews, and materials are aligned.
• Monitor KPIs including: job quality, completion times, labor utilization, and safety compliance.
• Track labor productivity, installation throughput, and material usage to support efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure completed installations meet all quality and customer satisfaction standards.
• Provide troubleshooting support and escalate issues as needed..
• Coordinate with customer service and sales teams on scheduling and customer expectations.
• Ensure technicians have accurate job packets, permits, and instructions.
• Drive training on installation methods, safety practices, and equipment handling.
• Support branch leadership with reporting, job costing inputs, and material/equipment requisitions.
• Conduct quality checks, post-install inspections, and required documentation for warranty and regulatory compliance.
• Provide daily coaching and support to technicians and apprentices.
• Conduct safety briefings, jobsite audits, and equipment/tool inspections.
• Oversee job staging, equipment readiness, inventory planning, and material allocation.
• Maintain compliance with North Carolina HVAC licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Enforce installation procedures, workmanship standards, and customer service expectations.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• HVAC Service & Installation
• Basic proficiency with field service or job management software (e.g., ServiceTitan).
• Ability to support technicians in troubleshooting and field execution.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school training preferred.
• 3–5 years of residential HVAC installation or production experience; 1–2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• HVAC Maintenance
• Driver's License
• High attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Journeyman’s License
• HVAC Troubleshooting
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• HVAC Repair
• H3-T Heating Technician License — required to hold, maintain, or obtain.
• H3-I Heating Group 3 – Class I Contractor License — strongly preferred; authorizes work in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
• EPA 608 Certification, Universal preferred — required to hold or maintain.
• SP-PH Special Plumbing & Heating License — strongly preferred; permits limited HVAC-related electrical work.
• Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn and grow.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
• Ability to read and interpret job plans, specifications, and installation instructions.
• Proven ability to lead small teams, manage workflow, and uphold quality and safety standards.
• Supervisory Experience
• Understanding HVAC installation processes, equipment, and jobsite best practices.
