Vertical Drill Superintendent

Description

In addition to directing drilling activities, the Superintendent supports a positive and productive work environment across all assigned job sites, coordinates with project leadership, and performs any additional duties assigned by management.

• Manage daily drilling operations across multiple job sites, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Communicate project progress, challenges, and equipment needs to leadership and stakeholders.
• Review project documentation, assess site conditions, and develop action plans, adjusting crew and equipment as needed.
• Promote and reinforce JDH safety standards, conduct training, and oversee corrective actions.
• Coach, train, and mentor drillers, foremen, and laborers to build a cohesive field team.
• Monitor rig and equipment readiness, coordinate maintenance, repairs, and logistics to maintain uptime.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and engineering documents.

Requirements

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong technical knowledge of drilling rigs, the ability to read and interpret engineering documents, and proven leadership experience supervising multi‑site crews. Excellent verbal and written communication, a valid driver’s license, and familiarity with safety, environmental, and drilling best practices are also required.

• Strong verbal and written communication for internal and external coordination.
• Solid mechanical understanding of drilling rigs and support equipment (Soilmec & IMT).
• Ability to operate or understand drilling‑related equipment.
• Valid driver’s license (Class A CDL preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership including task delegation, crew motivation, productivity, and safety.
• Prior experience in vertical foundation drilling (T‑Line, Substation, Cell Tower & DOT).
• Experience supervising field crews or managing multi‑site drilling operations.
• Experience with anchor bolts and rebar cages.
• Slurry management experience (preferred).
• Concrete foundation experience (forming, pouring) (preferred).
• Vibratory casing driving experience (Vibratory Hammer) (preferred).
• Experience coordinating with customers, inspectors, vendors, or utility representatives.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental requirements, and drilling best practices.
