What you would be doing

- Maintain departmental systems and identify areas for improvement.
- Produce detailed manufacturing instructions (2D CAD drawings, work instructions and some NC information)
- Help train new or junior engineers.
- Support with the resolution of production related problems.
- Generate bills of materials on AX
- Continually work to drive manufacturing cost and process times down.
- Develop production routes that improve quality, safety, business integrity and efficiency.
- Drafting standard detail drawings
- Assist in the implementation of new products.
- Produce renewal and export 1:50 layout drawings using CAD. This includes communication with Service Delivery function and design house engineers to clarify requirements.

- In depth understanding of technical drawings
- Must have good communication skills.
- Previous experience in design and manufacture of switch and crossing trackwork or safety critical manufacturing industry such as nuclear, chemical, aerospace, or automotive
- AutoCAD experience would be desirable.
- A minimum of HNC or equivalent in mechanical or production engineering
- 33 days holiday per annum, pro rate (inclusive of bank/public holidays)
