The Assembly Technician is responsible for creating and placing name plates in the production of medium and high voltage indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, power modules, and other related sub‑assemblies. The role requires working from manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and written or oral instructions from supervisors or engineering to produce correct name plates. Daily tasks include completing productivity and 5S sheets, maintaining minimum Kanban inventory levels, and reporting shortages, defects, and updates to operators and supervisors. The technician must also respond to change notices, customer‑requested adjustments, and development needs, and assist engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer‑initiated development work.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution and be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future. Candidates should reside within a 50‑mile radius of Greenwood, SC, although active‑duty military members are exempt from this requirement. At least three months of manufacturing experience in an industrial environment and experience using hand and air tools are required.
The position demands strong verbal and written communication, computer, persuasive, and analytical problem‑solving skills. The technician must work effectively with individuals and groups in a team setting, be willing to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs, and utilize various hand and power tools, a step ladder, and a crane in a Lean environment. Proficiency with standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook and job‑specific software like Enovia is also required.
