Team Leader

Description

• Communication: Daily communication with technicians, project managers, and general contractors; Collaborate with Team Leaders to support scheduling operations and recruiting to maintain appropriate staff among your team; Assist with management of field staff; Actively mentor and train junior field staff as they grow in their careers; Provide support to project managers and department manager as needed; Attend project meetings as requested; May participate in business development, marketing, and client development.
• Encourage continued participation in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities provided by organizations such as ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, various State DOTs, WACEL, and others, as appropriate.
• Manage geotechnical and CMT projects, as needed, by overseeing field operations and reporting, addressing project issues, controlling budgets and invoicing, and assisting with proposal development for professional growth
• Field Activities: Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites.
• Safety: Inventory maintenance and organization of supplies; Calibration and maintenance of field equipment to include keeping accurate records; Promote safety and safety culture; Ensure proper PPE is used on project sites; Assist with company required safety training.

Requirements

• Experience performing field and/or laboratory tests on construction materials and the ability to evaluate test results in terms of specification compliance.
• Proficient at data interpretation and evaluation of CMT techniques and results.
• Advanced understanding of construction materials testing principles, applications, and ASTM testing standards.
• 4+ years of related experience.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must have and be willing to maintain basic certifications.
• Strong understanding of construction materials testing and evaluation techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Advanced certifications may be required based on the work performed.
