Electrical Designer, Buildings

Description

• Support construction administration through RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and site visits.
• Apply codes and standards such as OBC, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and ASHRAE to ensure compliance and quality.
• Design electrical systems for power distribution, lighting, communications, fire alarm, and emergency systems using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with mechanical and other disciplines to create integrated design solutions that meet client needs.
• Deliver lighting calculations, fixture selections, and layouts for power and specialty systems that enhance functionality and sustainability.

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in electrical design for building projects.
• Proficiency in Revit (mandatory) and AutoCAD; familiarity with lighting calculation tools is an asset.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable diploma; EIT/P.Eng. or CET designation is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of OBC, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and ASHRAE standards.
• Experience mentoring junior designers or coordinating drafting teams is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in fast-paced environments.
