The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive territory management plan that includes both reactive (bid) and proactive (negotiated) sales strategies. This role serves as the primary customer contact, builds and maintains relationships, and drives market share growth.
Key duties include acquiring new customer accounts, strengthening existing relationships, conducting market research, and acting as the main sales resource to ensure successful project outcomes. The manager also collaborates with clients on promotional programs, maintains accurate CRM/ERP data, and provides regular feedback to sales leadership.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least four years of successful sales territory development. Core competencies include strong sales acumen, effective communication, analytical capability, entrepreneurial drive, and adaptability to change.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, seven or more years of solution or contractor sales experience, and prior trade or power‑generation industry exposure. These additional skills enhance the ability to serve Generac’s customer base.
Compensation ranges from $104,100 to $165,700, variable short‑term and long‑term incentives, and is adjusted for location, experience, and certifications. The role involves occasional travel and physical tasks such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
