The primary responsibility is to collect and record facility field data—including measurements, mapping, photography, equipment inventory, and staking—to update records and create design documents. Working under senior technical or engineering staff, the technician may act as a design or staking assistant and could assist in power restoration during natural disasters. Accurate data capture using paper forms, electronic devices, digital cameras, laser range finders, and GPS receivers is required, along with meeting production targets and occasional overnight travel.
This entry‑level field technician role may serve as a training slot for future Designer or CAD positions. The incumbent should be well organized, possess strong written communication skills, and be familiar with MS Office and CAD drafting systems where applicable. Experience in utility design or line construction and a basic understanding of GIS systems are preferred. High self‑motivation and the ability to work independently in an outdoor environment are essential, as is a valid driver’s license.
